About Foshan University
Foshan sits in the Pearl River Delta in central-southern Guangdong, near Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with a mild average temperature of about 23°C, long summers, and short winters. The city is known for martial arts history (including figures such as Wong Fei-hung, Ip Man, and Bruce Lee) and for manufacturing in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Foshan University (FOSU), named after the city, traces its history to 1958, when Foshan Normal College and the Foshan Branch of South China Agriculture College were founded. It has three campuses—Xianxi, Jiangwan, and Hebin—covering 362 acres, and is a science-and-technology-focused institution in Guangdong Province
