Programs

A four-year English-taught PhD focusing on molecular mechanisms that govern cellular functions and biological regulation, with research situated at the intersection of biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology.

The four-year PhD in Biophysics explores biological structures and processes using physical principles and experimental techniques. Research includes molecular dynamics, biophysical characterisation, and quantitative analysis of cellular systems.

The PhD in Botany is a four-year research programme examining plant physiology, genetics, and ecology. Students undertake original investigations under academic supervision and engage with plant science specialists. Emphasis is placed on developing independent research capability through sustained laboratory or field work.

A four-year English-taught PhD in Cell Biology at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, involving original research supervised by faculty members.

The 4-year PhD in Cellular Biology investigates how molecular processes govern cell architecture, signalling, and behaviour. Students conduct original experimental work preparing them for research roles in universities, pharmaceutical companies, and life sciences organisations.

A 3.5-year English-taught PhD delivering advanced chemical theory and experimental research training, enabling original investigation into problems of scientific and societal significance.

The four-year English-taught PhD in Developmental Biology explores genetic control of development, cell fate decisions, and organismal patterning. Research draws on interdisciplinary resources across Zhejiang University’s life sciences units.

A four-year English-taught PhD in Genetics at Zhejiang University, focusing on molecular genetics, genomics, and biotechnology, with research conducted in modern laboratories and interdisciplinary projects.

The four-year English-taught PhD in Microbiology addresses microbial roles in human health, industrial processes, and environmental systems. Students develop laboratory expertise while engaging with applied questions in microbiology.

This 4-year PhD in Pathogenic Biology examines the biology of infectious agents, host–pathogen interactions, and diagnostic or therapeutic approaches. Research training supports careers in academic microbiology, public health laboratories, and biotechnology.

The 4-year PhD in Pesticide Science focuses on pesticide chemistry, safety assessment, and sustainable use. Candidates carry out original research relevant to academic, institutional, and agricultural industry settings.

The 3.5-year PhD in Physics covers theoretical frameworks and experimental techniques across subfields such as condensed matter, optics, and quantum phenomena. Candidates produce original findings applicable to university research, national labs, and industrial R&D.

The four-year English-taught PhD in Zoology focuses on animal biology, evolutionary relationships, behavioural ecology, and conservation science. Research prepares graduates for roles in academic, institutional, and environmental sectors.
