What better way to learn a foreign language and immerse your self in a new culture than to live with a local family? Simply put, CSL’s Language, Culture, and Homestay program gives individuals and/or groups a chance to live with a local family, study Chinese, and enjoy some of China’s most celebrated cultural events and activities all at one time.

Classes can be arranged to fit your schedule, but are generally held five days a week for two hours a day at our local training center. All teachers are highly qualified and trained to teach Chinese as a second language, and CSL provides all books and learning materials for the entirety of your stay. All levels all welcome to apply.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to participate in a number of different cultural activities in and around Beijing during your stay. These include, but are not limited to: Calligraphy lessons, Kung Fu classes, tea tastings, camping on the Great Wall, etc. 

Finally, your time with the family is perhaps the most valuable aspect of the Language, Culture, & Homestay program. Participants develop life-long relationships with their host families and in most cases, find a way to cross paths again later on in life. As for the specifics, you will enjoy at least one meal a day, a cell phone with local number and RMB 100 credit to use during your stay (can accept international calls free of charge), Beijing transportation card with RMB 50 credit, personal airport pickup and transfer, map and orientation packet, and our 24-hour support and consultation.
